How to Log On and Run an Academic Systems Algebra Lesson
Before you can begin working in the Academic Systems Algebra lessons, verify the following:
- You have the appropriate URL for the PLATO Learning Environment.
- Your instructor has provided you with a log-on name and password to access the PLATO Learning Environment or you have self-enrolled.
Follow these steps to log on and run lessons from the PLATO Learning Environment.
- To log on to Academic Systems Algebra, you need to enter the following information:
Account Login PLATO Name Password
Click the Login button after entering valid information in the above fields to see the Home page or click the Reset button to re-enter the above information.
- Starting from the Home page of the PLATO Learning Environment, select your Assignment by clicking the Assignment button at the top of the page. Next, choose the Course in which you are enrolled. Finally, from the list that is displayed, choose your Section and click Show Me.
- A list of all available Assignments will be displayed.
- Click the Open button next to the Assignment you want to view.
- Navigate through the Assignment by clicking the navigation letters and numbers.
- When you have completed activities within the Assignment, you can check your progress by clicking the Progress button at the top of the page and generating a Learner Progress Report for your assignment.
Follow these steps to log on and run lessons using the CD option.
Note: The CD option should only be used in cases where a user has very low available bandwidth, for example a dial up connection to the Internet.
- Insert the Academic Systems Algebra CD-ROM: Browse through the welcome page and click Next to continue
- License Page: Read the terms and agreement and click on I Agree button to proceed further with the installation.
- Choose Install Location: Choose the location on your hard drive for installing AS Algebra. You are recommended to install it in the default specified location.
- Create Shortcuts: You can choose to create the AS Algebra shortcut in the program’s menu. You can also choose to enter any custom name to the AS Algebra application.
- Prerequisites: The installation will install all prerequisites (software/plugins) required to run the application.
- Finish: You can choose to launch the application right after the installation or later.
